Wooden Inlay Sommelier Knife
Size: 12cm x 2cm (closed)
Similar to a pocket knife, this sommeier knife has a corkscrew which folds out of the wooden inlayed body. An arm extends to brace against the lip of the bottle for leverage when removing the cork. There are 2 steps on the lever, which also includes a bottle opener. A small hinged knife blade is housed in the handle end for removing the foil wrapping the neck of many wine bottles
Please note that colours differ with each knife. They consist of a beautiful and unique patterned kaleidoscope colours and designs, made of fine hardwoods.
These elaborate inlays are created form treated domestic hardwoods using a process similar to that found in the finest handmade quilts. Lovingly handmade in Santa Fe, New Mexico, this wood inlay process dates back to the fifteenth century Renaissance, is now re-created in the wildlife scenes and American Indian tones of the southwest.
